You can choose from many exciting themes ranging from live animal demonstrations to science magic! Birthday parties at the Museum are filled with adventure and fun that your special boy or girl will always remember. Our Museum birthday parties are offered for children ages 5-12.
Rocks Rock
Junior geologists "Rock" this party! Examine exotic rocks and minerals under the microscope. Then, visit our new gems exhibit Minerals Rock! Add the IMAX movie Grand Canyon River at Risk 3D to your adventure!
African Adventure
Take a safari and meet some of the bizarre animals that reside on the Dark Continent. Make a cool African craft and add the new IMAX film: Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa (film opens November 7, 2008) for a hilarious look at "Wild Life."
ANIMAL MANIA
Snakes, alligators and lizards, oh my! Meet some of the Museum's live animals in this animal-tastic party!
Science Magic
You and your friends will spend your birthday mixing magic from everyday household ingredients. Learn how to make water disappear and re-appear again and make an ooey-gooey bag of slime!
SHARK BITE
Join us as we take an up-close-and-personal look into the jaws of a shark. Examine their teeth and make a shark tooth necklace. Add an IMAX film to your celebration.
Discovery Diva
OMG! Is there is more to makeup than sweet smells and sparkles? It's SCIENTIFIC! Bring your best friends to enjoy a birthday party full of sparkly potions and scented lotions you'll create yourself.

NEW! Birthday parties made just for Tiny Tots ages 3-5
Animal Antics. Begin your party in The Discovery Center, our unique early childhood area. Your party then continues in the Hammock Theater where children will meet some of the Museum’s resident animals, and participate in activities and party like an animal. Then spend the rest of the day exploring the museum.
All Birthday Party Packages include:
- One parking pass for the birthday party family for use in the Museum's bus loop. (Pass not good for the Arts and Entertainment garage)
- All-day admission to the Museum exhibit areas
- One small or one medium Museum t-shirt
- Up to 40 Museum birthday invitations (please request the amount needed when making your reservation)
- Party room for 80 minutes.
- 16" Cheese pizza (16 slices each)
- 16-20 guests: 2 pizzas
- 21-30 guests: 3 pizzas
- 31-40 guests: 4 pizzas
- Extra pizzas are available at $13.00 each.
- Carvel Ice Cream Birthday Cake with candles

Please no substitutions are available. Extra pizza and ice cream cakes are available at an additional charge. Please order extras at least seven days in advance. Ice cream flavor may vary, and no name is put on the cake.

GENERAL QUESTIONS
How many guests can attend?
Our party room comfortably holds a maximum of 40 guests (children and adults). If the number of guests exceeds the number of guests reserved, you may be billed for the extra guests. Birthday parties can be booked for less than 16 guests, but remember the minimum charge is 16 children plus accompanying adults.
Can I bring my own food?
Of course! You may bring store bought food. Food prepared from home is not allowed. Remember to bring perishables in coolers because we have no cooking or refrigeration facilities. Please, no red dye juices. Sorry, no credit is given for bringing your own food.
Can I bring my own decorations?
Yes! However, please do not bring any decorations that need to be hung or attached to the walls or the ceiling. Table decorations are most appropriate. For the safety of the animals: ballons, confetti, pinatas or other similar items are not permitted.
Does the Museum supply paper goods and utensils?
Plastic and paper goods (plates, cups, napkins, forks, table covers, etc.) will be provided, but you may bring your own, if you wish. However, no credit is given for bringing your own supplies.
Can I have a guided tour?
The Museum does not currently offer guided tours. Visitors can enjoy more than 200 hands-on, interactive exhibits at their own pace. Children 12 and under must be accompanied by a parent or adult chaperone while exploring the Museum.
Can I purchase gift bags?
Gift bags can be purchased for each child. You can select from three price points: $4, $8 or $12.
How do I book a Birthday Party and is a deposit required?

Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
You may also make reservations in person at the concierge desk:
Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. or Sunday noon to 6 p.m.
- A non-refundable $125 deposit is required at the time of the reservation in order to reserve the date.
- The balance and final guest count are due 10 days before your scheduled party.
- Reservations with outstanding balances risk cancellation and no refunds will be given.
- A party package will be mailed to you after your deposit is processed. The party package will include 1 parking pass, invitations and reservation paperwork.
What do I do when I arrive?
Place your parking pass on your dashboard and park in our bus loop on S.W. 5th Avenue (Commodore Brook Avenue). Proceed to the Concierge Desk, and inform us of your arrival at least 30 minutes before your scheduled party time to meet your Museum host. If you arrive early to enjoy the Museum or an IMAX film before your party, the Concierge will contact your Museum birthday host to store your food and gifts.
Late party arrivals risk a compromised time schedule since other parties or events may follow your allotted time in the party room. No refunds are available for late arrivals.
Your Museum host will assist you by transporting your food and gifts to the party room as well as helping you get the room ready for your guests.
Where do my guests park?
Inform your guests that they can park on the street or in the Arts and Entertainment parking garage located across from the Museum on S.W. 5th Avenue (Commodore Brook Avenue). There will be a fee for parking. Garage availability and fees may vary depending on the Broward Center for the Performing Arts events. Party fees do not include parking. Note: The garage is not owned or managed by the Museum.
